NEXTCLOUD - Microsoft but better?
Nextcloud has recently unveiled its new and improved user interface, emphasizing a more pleasant visual experience.
For those unfamiliar with Nextcloud, it is a real-time collaboration platform. Its main features include the following:
Nextcloud Office – Based on Collabora Online, a fork of LibreOffice.
Nextcloud Files – Secure cloud storage for syncing and sharing files.
Nextcloud Talk – Nextcloud’s version of Microsoft Teams or Google Meet.
And much more.
In this post, I will frequently compare Nextcloud to Google and Microsoft alternatives, as these are the services users might consider replacing with Nextcloud’s offerings.
In their own words:
“Nextcloud offers a modern, on-premise content collaboration platform with real-time document editing, video chat, and groupware on mobile, desktop, and web.”
Now, in my opinion, i think Nextcloud could be the next big thing. They have a lot of features i think users would genuinely like and use. Also, having similar elements to the big players make it easy to adjust to. An example of this is their “Word/Docs” alternative Nextcloud Write:
As you can see this closely resembles Microsoft Word, and thus makes it much easier to adjust to than other alternatives.
